November 14, 2020 — How US Presidential Elections Are structured (10 minutes)

An overview of the process and law that governs the interaction of states and the Federal government in choosing the President (the electoral system with states choosing electors 1st Tuesday in November, electors voting for President on December 8, and the inauguration of the victorious candidate January 20).  I made this recording for friends outside the US, so they could understand the timing of what is going on.

I made an  error in this description. December 8 is the last day for states to make the final determination of controversy as to appointment of electors;the actual tabulation of electoral votes is done December 14.
